No Longer Filling My Lungs with Harmful Chemicals and Toxins!

by Anna G
(Witchita, KS)

I'm 22 years old as of today, and I am no longer addicted to smoking cigarettes and smoking. In fact, I have only been "clean" for a few months now, but let me tell you, I could not be more proud of myself, and in turn, thankful that I am no longer filling my lungs with harmful chemicals and toxins.

I started smoking when I was 17, and smoked up until May of this year. I used to smoke around a pack of day, and while I wasn't a chain-smoker by any stretch of the imagination, I was heavily addicted to nicotine, and to be honest, I felt like that would never change. Fortunately, I came to the realization that it had to change, and I knew I had to take the necessary steps to make that happen.

After trying patches and gums and other methods that are supposed to help you quit smoking (to no avail, of course), I decided to go cold turkey. I didn't expect great results, but almost immediately, I knew this was the route for me.

The first few days were very tough, and I still had a suspicion that it wouldn't work, but I managed to buckle down and stick with it, and the results were outstanding. I don't really know why, and I don't know how particularly, but cold turkey worked for me, and I could not be happier with my progress and change in life.

My only advice to people trying to achieve a similar goal is to stick with it, and don't be afraid to experiment with different methods. You never know what will work for you, and although it may seem impossible, you can succeed just like I did.

Anna,

Congratulations. Great job!
