I Literally Smoked Myself Sick.

by Joan Leon
(Manton, Michigan)

My attempt to stop smoking came after a break-up. I literally smoked myself sick. I smoked so much to the point I never wanted to smoke again.

I went cold-turkey.I had been pressured by my family to quit.I also was taking into account the fact that I didn't want any extra wrinkles around my mouth from smoking.

I was a smoker for about 10 years.I socially smoked and also smoked in places of habit such as my car.

When I stopped smoking in these places it was easier for me to go cold turkey because I no longer associated these places with having a cigarette. It was somehow easy for me.

I am lucky to have had it so easy.I lived with my mother who had her eye on me and disapproved of my smoking. It was easier that way.
